I love this car! Based on your MPH and ET: Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 615.28 flywheel HP and 553.75 rear wheel HP. Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 708.74 flywheel HP and 637.87 rear wheel HP. So you obviously have some traction issues LOL, but with that much TQ on tap... I would like to see what this combo would do in the quarter mile in a 3200 pound Skylark! SO I crunched the numbers: 10.18 seconds and MPH of 131.65 MPH. This would be faster than my twin turbo 350 Lark, I expect mid 10s....
Yeah,i don't think it's traction.. I am looking into another converter, higher stall, to get my 60'and 330 down.. Should come around at that point!. I have a set of 2.92's to in it now as well, won't help much but will give me now mph, as i an severely limited at 3400rpm.. Just takes time and money!
I haven't read all your post but what a cool project! I hope you don't mind me saying this but the sump in the fuel tank looks to small and not far enough towards the back of the car. Again very cool project!
Most likely! But it hasn't starved yet (that i know of) and it sets right where the old pickup was.. Which is the absolute lowest point in the tank.. I do kind of wish i did the cut holes in the tank, wedge style, but the ribs in the tank were hard to get around as it is... May be a round 2 coming in the future, will see!
I want to build a Duramax Riviera so bad! I just don't have the cash! I wonder if it would fit? Anyways I really dig your car. I am a diesel fanatic, so this is right up my alley!
Thanks! Got the transmission rebuilt quickly again a bit ago.. Little higher on stall now, she hits out if the hole now! Gonna get a shot at quarter mile again Saturday.. Going for new best!
Google to the rescue! http://www.dieselpowermag.com/news/1403_1300_lb_ft_cummins_powered_buick_riviera_torque/ Couldn't find the article when I was on the magazine's site... o No:
I do like this article better though. http://www.dieselarmy.com/features/72-buick-riviera-powered-by-a-24v-cummins-tearing-up-the-street/
The time is upon us... For more power. I had an offer I couldn't refuse. Was given a 12 valve Hamilton aftermarket head. I just had to get different pistons and make it all work. So. Larger injection pump, better head and valve train, cam, little more compression, and some fresh rings.. This coming year promises to be fun!!
