Hey Guys.As some of you know I have been trying to get my engine project finished for a few years now. After waiting for months for the machine shop I finally get it home and installed by this weekend.I don`t have a scanner or digital camera at the ready so you will have to take my word in regards to the engine dyno results. This engine was planned as a sleeper from the beginning,a strong street engine looking mostly stock with headers. On 91 octane and a damp day it made 420 HP at 4800 and 526 TQ at 3600.From 4300-5300 it was 400+ horses. Now I know it`s not a ''Killer" but it should be quite fun on the street.
    Here is the build.
-75`455(462) block,balanced,9.5 c.r forged pistons, all the oiling and blueprinting mods.
-69`430 small port, standard valve heads, some bowl work and TA springs.
    -800 QJet
    -B4B
    -TA 290-94H cam
    -Hooker Headers
That is the main body of it anyway, the cam was installed a bit advanced hence the lower rpm figures. Now if the weather gets a bit better I can take it out a few times before it gets too cold!!
Thanks for all the tips and info that I have received.I hope my post might help a few of you putting your engines together.Later,Tony.

Hey Clint. Thanks for the good words!! I am quite happy how it turned out,it sure gives me a willy just running it the garage doing some fine tuning!! The weather is just not co-operating for now,too much rain!! Anyway,do you have a good machine shop lined up for your 464?? I spent almost half my budget on machine shop work to make sure I had a good oiled and solid short block.
All the best.See you on the boards.Later,Tony.

There's lots of great tuning tips for around this BBS, you should have lots of winter to get the Buick ready. Just run an exhast vent outside and that 455 block will heat the garage in about 10 minutes!

(sigh) I have found the 2 WORST shops...

The first took a deposit and then sat on thier collective butts for 6 months. The second did all the block machining and failed to sonic & inspect first...they found a casting flaw last week. It's been physically AT the machine shop for 51 weeks now... My shop out in Cornwall would never pull this crap.

I miss the Ontario shops... though I can do without the PST

My 455 in my REGAL had a rod knock for over a year before I put it away.It took me 2 years to fine a person to hand assemble my new 462.It took him 6months to iron-out the factory flubs on the NOS block.Had to re-order oversize piston BUT I pick it up today.
    Pictures to come soon.
Visit the REGALS with extra cyclinders to take a look see.
