Hi im AJ, Im 17 years old. I own a Cutlass Supreme G-Body with a 455 Big Block Buick. I know its not the right engine for the car When i was growing up my dad had a Buick skylark with a 455 buick. I loved that car and wished one day it would be mine. Money got tuff and he had to sell it. Growing up I was always into GM vehicle's and always wanted that raw un-tamed torque my dads Skylark had. I went to an action and found a complete 455 buick engine in the corner with a sheet over it When they came to the engine and took the sheet off i had no clue what it was, nor did anyone else there, but my dad did. We picked the engine up for 25$. Then the rebuild came, I rebuilt the engine from bottom to top, Basically tore it apart cleaned and hot tanked everything, put all new gaskets in it, Neoprene rear main seal gasket from TA Performance. I bought a brand new camshaft and lifters from TA Performance and put it in there, Used all new gaskets not a single gasket reused. I used a Holley 650 spread bore and used a converter plate to used the Chevy 350 tranny. The engine did come with the BOP 400 tranny. I just got the car legal and im driving it as my Daily Driver. I love it, nothing better then the sound of all 4 barrels opening I can post pictures if you guys would like. Yeah that's basically everything about my car, Cant wait to be apart of this community I not sure how to tell if my 455 is anything special like a stage 2 or anything.
Congrats and welcome. Wrong engine? I'd say right engine wrong car, but I am a little biased. Always good to see a father pass the love of Buicks on to a son. Also impressive how you did the rebuild yourself. I'm not a pro at identifying the stage 2 stuff, but the link below may help with the more common Stage 1 stuff. http://www.stage1registry.com/stage1info.html A bigger carb may be called for as the 455s like 750cfm or bigger. And we are always up for pics. :TU:

Time to hit the "Report Post" triangle :Smarty: This first post by a new board member is in fact an exact copy of an old post. Further reading :Comp:
