Hi, everyone, just wanted to invite you to my new webpage about my 1971 Riviera. I am just about ready to start the restoration, so this is mostly about the history of my particular car. Many more posts to follow, of course. You can view it at www.ronruelle.com/riv.html. Enjoy! Ron

Cool page. Im looking forward to seeing the restoration. BTW I would love to have your car in the Boattail Registry, as it is very rare! Email the VIN#, cowl tag, options, colors, etc. at boattailregistry@gmail.com

    Thanks :TU:

Hey Ron. Very kewl. I like the site and your comix.

Please clarify... a windshield from a 76 Impala is identical to the windshield of a boattail???

    Consolidating a few responses here...

Apparently GM used the same windshield for a lot of full size cars in the 70s. As I recall, my windshield did indeed come from a 75 or 76 Impala, (I got it a few months after getting this car, but I am almost certain of this fact) complete with the radio antenna in the glass. Somewhere there is a parts swap list that tells you what parts are compatible across brands and years of GM cars. I don't have that list, but the guy looked it up for me way back when.

Anyone with a 71 Riv and 59 LeSabre in their garage is all right in my book. Odds are yours are in better shape than mine... for now!

Thanks for the kind comments and encouragement. Many more posts to come on my site...

    Rob,
Does that mean that my 74 LeSabre 2 door hardtop's windshield is not the same as the one in my 76 Electra coupe parts car?
I planned replacing the LeSabre's windshield with the Electra's windshield this summer as there is a small stone chip in mine.

Phil.... this information came out of a Hollanders Exchange Manual... so I cannot tell for sure, for that is only one source I have.... To be really sure I would need some more sources. For now it is the only one I have here.... Some body else on this board maybe??

Electra's use the same windshield as the equivalent year LeSabre
