Just received the latest edition of the Musclecar Enthusiast magazine(February 2004) today and was surprised to read in the Editor's comments that Musclecar Power has been acquired by Amos Publishing which publishes Musclecar Enthusiast. He goes on to state that if you are subscribed to MP, you will receive copies of ME.

What happens if you are a subscriber to both magazines? I subscribed to MP in September 2002 but have only received one magazine. Sounds like I might hosed on this deal. I'm going to contact ME about my subscription to MP. The response could be interesting.

Does anyone know what happened with Tom Shaw and Muscle car Power? It took him several years to put a magazine together to replace Musclecar Review.

Anyone else in a similiar situation with MP?

Did we not see a post that he sold his list to MCE and became a contributing writer there?

  3. I believe if you were subscribed to both, your sub to MCE will be doubled in length. NO ONE got more than one issue of MP. Supposedly MCE will also be sending t-shirts to those MP buyers that never got their MP shirts. All in all, it was a very poorly handled operation, regardless of the good intentions. There was really no legit excuse for the lack of any communication from MP as to its status. But I don't want us to rehash this here. If you want to read more about it, go a search of the board for "musclecar power" and I'm sure you will have no problem finding a few posts that discuss this in detail.

    Jim & David,

    Thanks for the responses.

I did a search as you suggested and came up with the answers to my questions. Apparently I missed the original post in December about the change.

    Thanks,

    Larry

I subscribed to Musclecar Power at the 2003 GS Nats and received the "Premier" first issue. I also subscribed to Musclecar Enthusiast last month (a 1 year subscription) and received my first issue (Feb. 2004) yesterday. I also heard that if you had subscribed to Musclecar Power that you would receive a subscription to Musclecar Enthusiast in its place. I assumed that my 1 year subscription to Musclecar Enthusiast would be extended another 12 months. However, I noticed that my subscription to MMusclecarEnthusiast runs through May of 2005 which is a total of 15 months or 15 issues. If you rrememer Musclecar Power was only going to publish 3 issues the first year. It appears that for people in our situation, our subscription to Musclecar Enthusiast will have their subscription extended by the number of issues Musclecar Power was going to publish in its first year (3). For those who are not already subscribing to Musclecar Enthusiast I don't know if they will get a full 1 year subscription or 3 issues. Maybe someone else out there can shed some light on this.

    Confused

I too am confused at how long we are getting. I don't recall what I sent Tom Shaw but it was for more than one year's worth of ME.:Do No:

The premier issue was $9.95, and if you then subscribed also, you paid either a $24.95 early promotional rate, or a $29.95 std annual rate. I bought only the $9.95 1st issue. For taking over a year to get printed, I did not feel the annual sub was worth rolling the dice on.
