As I understand it, that mag is the replacement for our subscriptions to Shaw's failed venture. Was anyone as disappointed as I was? I just got my first issue and it's already in the trash. Few pages, little info of interest, and a total focus on museum pieces. I think the over and under on how long it will be around is 18 months.ou:
Jack, previous issues were much better quality, in my opinion. I'm receiving it in place of Muscle Car Motion, which they also absorbed. It's too bad Tom couldn't make MCP work, I think he just bit off more than he could chew by himself. I'm also getting Hemmings Muscle Machines, which is a good deal for $12 for monthly issues.
Not so good... Jack, I too was disappointed. It was nothing compared to the Hemmings musclecar publication in terms of content and size. It was little better than, gulp, Hot Rod:spank:
I agree, Hemmings is a lot more fun and a much better product. I even like Hot Rod better now that they have gotten more into nostalgia pieces. The match bashers and old photos are a hoot. Shows you my age, since I grew up with all that!:3gears:
You think you guys were disappointed! I only received the mailing label with no magazine attached to it. I called the publisher and was told they had obtained the mailing list for MCP. The person I spoke with was very clear that they did not intend to complete the MCP orders, they are just sending the magazines as a gift to try to increase subscriptions. I asked if Tom Shaw were involved and she said, "No."
75 pages and 25 were ads. Nothing special in the other 50 pages if you ask me!!! Not even good throne reading!!!
Hey, John. First time around, all I got was a paper cover, with no mag attached. It did say that this was a replacement for Shaw's mag. When I called to get another copy, the lady acted as though I would see an equal number of issues as purchased from Shaw. But, who cares? It's not worth the time. Have a good weekend.:blast:
