You should check out the 3000 hp synchronous motors that we use on our mills. These babys make 1,000,000 ft/lbs on start up:3gears:

You forgot "spanner" in the UK and "wrench" in the US. There's several others Dad told me about from his time there before the invasion of Northern Europe in June, 1944. Since this is a family oriented board, I can't post them here...

Hi,i live in a small town in germany called Schorndorf where Gottlieb Daimler was born. The inventor of the first MOTOR a german word with roots in the latin. In latin MOTOR means mover. So i think this is the reason why the whole word knows the word MOTOR but every language have its own word as well.

:Comp: An Engine changes Heat Energy into Mechanical Energy, whereas a motor changes electrical energy, into mechanical energy, isn't that right? Well if that's so,then a Buick is neither...A Buick is a device that converts TORQUE into Tire Smoke:3gears: ,Unsuspecting Chevys,Fords and other NON-Buicks into blips in rearview mirrors, and Buick owners into the BEST CAR owners on the PLANET...(at least this forum site attests to THAT!)Could I be heading in the RIGHT DIRECTION?:TU: Jay B.Britt,Jr.

On my way to the store for some toilet paper
(that went over the top not under the bottom)
    I lost my COO-pon (not Q-pon)
    under my MOTOR mount.
Last time i said "Engine" a Native American fellow punched me in the back of the head. and I spit my "pop" out everywhere.
