Not wanting to use a Solid Motor Mount on my Stock Appearing 70 GS prompted my Fabricator to come up with some Polyurethane Mounts.

They also ended up being 2 pounds lighter than the factory rubber mounts. (2 pounds doesn't seem like much but I've been paying huge attention to the weight of this car knowing it will be horsepower limited with Factory Manifolds so every pound counts!)

I should FINALLY have some engine bay pictures in the next couple of weeks.

I keep wishing somone would produce something like that. HRParts keeps thinking about it but nothing for sale yet. I could use a drivers side for sure. Good choice on not using solid mounts they are not good for our blocks.

It looks like a chevy mount bolted to an adaptor plate. At least that is what I have been thinking of doing to my 67 mount.
I want one for my 67 BBB GS. My orig was drilled and pinned and welded into a solid mt and I feel the harmonics off the engine.
Wish we could get something going here. So far I have only heard rumers of someday getting good poly mounts.

Would this guy make some for us, or just give us the adaptor pattern and part number of the mount he used? Could interlockers be used?

I'm not 100% sure BUT I think the mount is an LSX mount similar to what we used on my GSX with the LS2 Motor. So, if that's the case you could contace Kurt to see if he would sell just the adaptor plate. His number is 715-874-5921. Just mention to him that you saw them on my website.

The other thing is whether or not the LSX mount would fit a std. BBB motor mount (Frame Pad) We custom made my frame mounts which allowed us to move the motor back a bit so no issues on my deal - can't say that would be the same for someone using a factory (frame) mount.

Here's a picture showing the custom mounts on my frame:

Just wondering why solid mounts are not good. I was thinking of putting one solid on the drivers side of my 401 but if there is good reason not too then i'll stick with original.

Everybody has their own opinion on this but I have used them for years on both my drag car(with tiedown cable also) and on my 4-spd cars they do seem to help the clutch linkage operate smoother..:TU:

Bobb Makely told me that the 455 blocks can be distorted with solid mounts. Those blocks are noted for being light weight with thin walls. The 401 probably does not have this problem.

I'd like to see some polyurethane frame mounts for the trans crossmember.
