Anyone know what years of the Chrysler 360 are the best to hot rod? I have a 1979 Plymouth Volare Duster with 41,000 original miles I got from my Grandmother who bought it brand new but, it has a slant six. Just looking to make a cruiser for the local shows. It's not the "nicest" bodystyle but its got a sentimental value to it.
From what I can recall, look for a 1974 360 with an "E58" code on the fender tag. That's what the performance and cop cars got that year. My brother has one in his 70 Dart, and it runs low 14's, stock compression, mild cam, with 3:23 Sure Grip, and an Edelbrock carb/manifold which he has yet to dial in. He should get high 13's next year with it.
