Hi, What Mopar intakes fit the Buick with the adaptors? I am asking because my step son is into truck pulling, He just bought a 511ci big block mopar motor out of a drag car that was running 8:20s to put in his truck. The motor has a real slick fabricated aluminum tunnel ram with two 1150 holleys, he can't use this intake in the truck since he can only have one carb. He wants to sell the intake without carbs, I am sure its worth big bucks but I was thinking that if this intake could be made to work on a Buick 455 that somebody here might be interested in it. I don't know right now who built it but I am sure I could get a good look at it and take some pictures. I saw pictures of the complete motor when he went to get it and it looked like the motor has all first class stuff on it, he had the pan here tonight so I could list it on Ebay, it is a really nice fabricated aluminum pan with 2 oil return fittings on each side of the pan and had a externally plumbed oil pickup. The heads were externally oiled and drained through lines back to the pan. The pan won't fit in the truck chassis so he had to change the pan also. The engine was in a "B" body car and has a hole in it for the tie rod to pass through.

I now Charlie Evans sells 2 different types of the Mopar adaptors for the different intakes. You can email him at: Charlesdevan@aol.com . I believe he is going to the BPG meet this weekend,so it might be afew days before he will reply. He builds quality parts and is building my iron stage 2 head engine. He has also built a big mopar blown engine for a jet drag boat. I don't believe he would steer you wrong. Mike Nussell :3gears:

Hi, Charlie told me to go to that post, I didn't realize that there were 2 different big block mopar engines. I assumed because the motor is a 511 it started as a 440 but step son tells me it has a 400 block with some mopar aluminum heads. I don't know mopars very well but it seems a little odd to me to use a short deck block for a big motor but maybe whatever combination of parts are in it works out better with the shorter block. Isn't the 440 like the Buick with a huge bore and a short stroke? :Dou: I guess they must be if TA uses a mopar size piston and ring setup, my bad lol. Tom

440 Has a 10.750 deck height while the 400 is 9.800.The 400 also has a larger bore. With the 440 dh the rods end up to long if you want a light piston. The 400 allows you to run a shorter rod and piston compression height.440'S have a 4.320 bore stock so .030 over is 4.350 that we run in the .038 over bore.I think the 400 is 4.375 stock
