Just wanted to let folks know that the stuff Monzaz sells are top notch. Jim sold me everything to re-gear my buddy's 12 bolt in his Chebby chevelle. EVERYTHING went smooth with this install and much better then expected. Thanks Jim

I can only agree with the above assessment.
Jim came back and again until I finally measured correctly and hence he could deliver the right part to me.
    Very good and fast service.

I will add my praise to the thread.

The gears he sells set up real nice and Quiet. Trouble free installation. I have done several sets.

His site is great for tech info and Jim is always willing to talk to you and help.

Thumbs up for JD Race and Restoration!

Same here, I got a custom machined ring and pinion from him for helper than I could get the stock gears anywhere local and he added a yoke, shims, and pattern grease for no extra charge easy and polite guy to deal with

Please do remember ask before you buy. If I do not know or someone on the site does not know will try to find out.

Hey monzaz can you give me some info and possibly price on the ford 9" rearend w/ disc brake replacement for my 72 electra, which is 9 3/8s. I would like something around 3.42s as i need a driver with the ability to light em up every now and then. Thx

Wow, do not normally do Ford 9" We would need the old rear for brackets to measure and get parts from... It is not an easy swap. Might have to have a pow wow on this deal. Jim

It doesnt have to be a ford rear, i had seen another post that suggested that setup and your possibly the man to do it. I would like a nice solid posi rear that i can put in to replace my peg leg. Preferably geared higher cause i want it to be a beast but still streetable. I think i seen in the past a 72 lesabre that had 4.11s i think, tell me what you think i nee to this whole aspect of rearends. Thx

Pretty much any rear with 4 link from GM FORD etc are limited by that very thing...In 1971 -1976 you are VERY limited in any kind of big rear that actually has parts from the aftermarket.
    9.3 GM (12 bolt round cover) Stock gears only 2.56 2.73 2.93 3.08 3.23 3.42

    8.875 GM full size (10 bolt cover 12 bolt guts) aftermarket 3.55 gears, NO aftermarket posi units, GM gears are 2.28 2.41 2.73 2.93 3.08 3.23 3.42

10 bolt 8.5 (10 bolt cover) aftermarket gears are pretty much unlimited, aftermarket posi units available.

JUST not a lot of choices out there. We do not spend a lot of time trying to figure these rears as most will not spen d the money it takes to make this happen...Just like the Monza h-body rears... same problem as it has a torque arm like the camaro rear BUt the car itself used only cost 1-2 thousand and most will not spend more than the car costs for a rear. lol. :) Jim

So jim outside of finding 3.42 big rear for my limited is pretty much the only option? In the case that i do is it a way to convert those rear drums to disc?

IF...if you find a 1971-1976 Pontiac full size rear we have 3.55 gears for that. AGAIN gears are not cheap They are aftermarket Richmond BUT that pinion and ring should hold some power. It is the same design as back to 1965-1970 Catalinas & Bonnevilles etc. Should be a direct bolt in rear.

Now are the pontiac 9 3/8s as well, and they do come with disc? How much are the 3.55 gears and is it extremely difficult to switch them out. This may be my only option to get a higher gear, looking to put about 600hp to it. Thanks much for all the help.
