    guys...
here's my problem. i'm rebuilding a 70 electra from the ground up. everything is powder coated and now trying to put it back together. currently stumped on the rear end. everything calls for RW508BR bearings. the problem is, the one's we pulled out are 88131R's. seems to be an issue with seals as well. are they the 8940S or 51098?
where do i get them? who makes the best? and finally...
the paper gasket form the housing to the backing plate, do i really need it?
and if so, where do i find that?
    thanks for helping!!!

sTART WITH TH EEASY STUFF. 1966-1970 9.3 GASKET- i HAVE NEVER FOUND ONE YET...LOL. gONNA HAVE T goop it. :( Sorry.

I have the axle bearings.... Best ones...humm... sometimes you do not get a choice. you have to take what is out there. Most bearings these days are pretty good. I have used many degree of quality bearings in cars and trucks and really do not have failures... NEW bearings are are better than leaving the old worn out ones in there. Things can only go so far no matter how god they were built.

Any way I have the bearings you seek. BOTH of them and both seals

Says in the book 88131R goes with the 51098 seal( 1968-1969 electra 10 bolt cover? )
    RW508BR gets the 8940 seal (1968-1970 electra)

You just have to go whith what ever the housing has- Sure the rear is original to the car year? Jim
