Since the Gopher State Buick club is a BCA charter, I thought I'd throw this in here. May 4th there will be the annual show/swap meet at the State Fairgrounds. It will be held up on machinery hill this year, as the track is getting a facelift. go to www.mnbuicks.org and look at the calender for more information, and a link to the official flier.
Where is Machinery Hill? I couldn't really tell from the map on the flier, where is Machinery Hill? My brother and I usually head down for this show, last year we had a trailer full of Buick parts to peddle but all the swap spaces were sold out. We set up out in the parking lot, but you couldn't take anything off the trailer so we didn't sell much. We were thinking of trying again this year. Is the new area smaller than the track area? This show is very dependant on the weather, nice weather and it is packed!! But we very rarely see anyone selling Buick parts at the swap. We used to drive our cars down for the show. I have a nice pic of my GS California sitting in 3" of snow in my driveway ready to head south for this show!
Facelift? Heck, I've read they are doing away with the track completly. No more races or demolition derbys.:blast:
Pre-Register! Machinery Hill is more on the north end of the fairgrounds. The Swap area is going to be >LARGER < than it was previously! If you pre-register, your swap spot is guaranteed until 0900 the day of the show. A detailed map will be sent out with the confirmation letter the show secretary sends. If you think of anything else be sure and call the show hotline at 651-770-8096 or download the form from the website. If you think of anything else pm me as I am planning to go to our club meeting tomorrow night (11th) and the car show meeting on the 15th.
I was going to make a point of being at the meeting tomorrow, and getting some clearification. I'll be sure to post what I find out. Jason
