    Where is Mississippi? Somewhere between Louisina and Alabama, south of Tenessee. I just closed on my house here where catfish is good eating and plenty of good vittles watever you please.

    Just wish to offer some hospitatilty and fixings. I'm not set up right yet for boat fishing but that will come soon. Some of the best shorline around on the Ross Barnett reservoir.

    I've heard there is a strip around here but reckon a Buick would be something new. First run will either be the GN or the 72GS462. Have to work out the details.

    Tomorroy my brother, nephew, and I are going to the monster truck show in Jackson. Life is good.

    Mike;
    Believe it or not you have some Buicks around you! We are in Mobile,- 67gs400. Good friend in Jackson has '87 T-Type & "68 Riviera.
    If you don't know about it, you have Cruisin The Coast in October that draws over 6,000 registered cars plus another 3,000 or so that do not register. Goes a full week. Drags, car shows, auction, entertainment. A "must do".
    Will send you a contact later who runs his Turbo-T at most events he can manage.
    Hope the "deep south" doesn't give you culture shock.

    Mike :

    I always say that once you cross the Mason Dixon line you will never go back. Beside China is a long way from Ar-Kansas.

    Like Rick said, if you've never been to Cruisin the Coast, you're in for a real treat. It's like the Disney World for hot rods. You can't go for just one day, there's just too much to see.

    Mike;
    Maybe you've opened a can of worms?
    I don't post much because I've always felt like an ugly step child being "down here" when the majority of our group is "up there".
    We tried forming a deep south Buick club centered in Jackson but have not had a lot of participation. Just a few of us get together from time to time.
    There is a great car show at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson July 9 to 11 put on by the Southern Show Car Series of The World of Show and Go. Up to now only 1- Buick there. ME. A great bunch of guys put it on & it's a blast.
    Would be cool to have a bunch of BUICKS show up & park together. I know the guys who put it together so blocking off an area would be no problem.
    Anybody out there interested?????????????

    Hey China Mike!! I am also in the Jackson Area! I would be glad to show you around the area if you get a free afternoon! There are three tracks in the area. One in Byram that is a little short of a 1/8th mile, there is one in Lena that is a 1/4 mile and another in Canton that I have never visited.

    I do not frequent the tracks much, but I'd be more than happy to act as a pit crew if you decide to make a trip!!!

    Ricky,
    Did you give up on the idea of the Deep South GSCA Chapter? Man, I know you did a lot of work trying to get the gang together. Even though Jackson is a bit too far for me to take a casual jaunt, it was good to know y'all were at least on the radar screen.
    Anyhow, regards from the Crescent City, and good to know you're still out there!

    NO!! We did not give up. We just took a year off!! I got tired of doing most of the work myself. With only five or six ACTIVE members, it was real hard. If Mike is interested, and with a couple of other newcomers to the area, we will probably get it started up again this year!!!

    Keep in touch!!!

    Thanks,
    Ricky

    Tell you what. I'll ship my 72GS down there soon and when I'm not around will try to get my brother or nephew to show up somewhere. Hope they can handle it. Neither of them have ever raced.

    You need to say when the gigs are happening. Best I can do for now. Next year in 2005 I expect more time on my hands.

    Other thing I was thinking was to send the 71GS455 Convert 4spd directly to Mississippi when it's done. That's scheduled for springtime. Two car garage deserves two Buicks inside.

    Today we were sitting on the deck and a big flock of white pelicans (about 50 to 80 of them) were swimming around close by feeding on minnows or some thing like that. Really going at it. Geese and ducks gave them a wide berth, and it was obvious who was king of the waves. Terns ahd Herron were standing around on the shoreline watching. It's great living on the waterfront again.
