I am restoring a very dissipated 57 Buick Roadmaster convertible. This is a big and long project, but those always yield the most satisfaction when they are completed.

The car sat outside for many years so the top is gone as are the floorboards and the interior. I have a 2 door Super parts car to use for the missing pieces. I bought floor pans and they are nearly completed.

I have a little problem with the snaps for the convertible top. There are buttons on the stainless moulding at the rear of the car and along the rear seat area. A few of the buttons are missing and I really don't know how to replace them. The buttons are riveted in place, so I would assume that a replacement would be screwed in place. I have not checked with an upholstery shop to see how they handle that chore.

Any thoughts on how I can replace these pieces?

You may have answered your own question.Ask a trim shop if they can obtain the snaps for you .If not try sourcing through a fastener supply house. To remove the old ones, drill through the center of the rivet with an appropriate drill bit.Good luck Joe
