Dave, what the T/S -Q16 about, I don't see much on the Milan web says APD Quick 16 #6?
I can send an email blast to the MICHIGAN and OHIO folks to try to get them there! My Racecar is in the garage on the battery charger for the next weekend at Milan Pontiac Invitationals, and Milan is only about and hour for me, so do tell. I was looking for something to do next Saturday anyway, this would be perfect, except my seat belt expired, so I guess, it's off to Jegs.Com! :spank: :beer

Congratulations to Dave Mongeon and his crew for his WIN in Top Sportsman over the weekend at the Milan drags. He pounded all the Chevy's, Ford's, Chry and what ever else was there to the end. The only Buick entry to there surprise, (That a Buick could even begin to think of entering a Top Sportsman race), which then put them all back on there trailers for along ride home. Good job Dave, we all appreciate your support here at TA Performance for our products and the Buick hobbyists. Keep up the hard work.

And never had to make a full pull to do it. First round they all lined up behind me. Somthing about 10.33 at 151 MPH no one wanted any LOLOLOl:TU:

Thank's everybody. We had a fun weekend.
Back in September, after our local track's T/S points series ended on the labor day weekend, we were looking for a late season race not too far from home.
The plan was too get some nice cool fall air and a well prepped track.
Milan runs a similar T/S program to our home track so that was the choice.
Who'd think we would end up with 90+deg air and 85% humidity ?
We weren't going to set any records with air like soup and the DA around
3900 ft so I pulled out a bunch of fuel to run the first qualifier.
It went 8.04 and was still lazy so I pulled out a little more.
2nd qualifier was 8.02 so we left it alone.
For eliminations we dialed 8.02 it ran
    8.029
    8.034
    8.024
    9.04
The final round was around 10:30 pm, by then my helmet, neck brace
and glove's were so soaked from the humidity I had a hard time getting my
gloves on. I did my burnout and as I backed up the windshield fogged over,
I figured we were in for a ride! He was dialed 8.46 so he left first, got out about 300 feet then came unglued . He was using most of his lane but stayed
out of mine. My 60ft and 330 were good and I passed him before the 1/8th .
Immediately after passing him I came unglued and started using most of my lane, I pedaled it and pulled the chute early. Got the win and was glad we were done for the night.
I've attached the list from the 2nd qualifier for anybody that's interested.
Mike , your's and TA's support is always appreciated.
Roberta hope your feeling better :beers2:
Jerrold thanks for making us feel welcome at Milan and getting us the good
    parking spot
Bobb congrats too you ,sounds like it was a good weekend for Buicks, tell us how it went.
John I won't come to Cecil unless they let me run with IHRA credentials
    nothing against you , I think you guy's run a class A event .
Hey Chris when you coming east?

I didn't post more because I didn't want to jack your thread. Some guy's get upset about that stuff so I try not to do it. But since you asked I shall tell.

First thing of the day I went up to look at the track and ran into the owner he asked I had my car there and when I said yes he just rolled his eyes and shook his head. I said is it that bad Mike looks at me and says they've been running for 20 minutes and the first 6 feet are already concrete. There is no way to keep a track in top shape when you have street tires running down it. (issue we run into at BG) But he points out if I can get it out past the sixty foot clocks I should be ok they really stuck it first thing.
I go up for my first pass, I have a new toy on the car It doesn't work correctly as most new things don't and I coasted to and 11 second. We go back and unhook said new toy and go back to pulling timing. I pulled 12 degrees at the hit and left everything else alone. Well that didn't work after the third pedal of the car I just ease into the gas and run 10.33 @150. At this point I'm ready to load, but go hang out with some friends in the south side street car club instead. When they decide to call q-16 Jamie Wolcott asks me if Im going to run And I say Hell what do I dial, her response is it's heads up pro tree. So now I know Im in. I head up to the lanes and pull in behind a friend of mine so we don't have to race and start shooting the bull when a twin turbo GN pulls in next to me. I tell him what are you doing we are here to beat up on Chevys not each other and they say well we didn't want to run you but neither does anyone else at this point I notice every other car in the 16 is pulled into my lane. I said, what I only ran 10.33 he laughed and said at 150 miles an hour. They might have Chevys but there not that stupid. so I end up racing the GN first round. I change the program in the MSD to the one we had in it at Osy when it went 8's. it was lazy out of the hole with a 1.39 sixty foot and shook the tires a little in second gear but I drove thru it and we ran a 9.19 @ 151. I got the bye in the second round for being fast winner. Third round I had to run a buddy with a 10.30 gutless with a small block Chevy in it. we gave him the light and drove around him before the sixty. It still got lose in second gear so I double pedaled it and half throttled it to about the 1000 foot clocks were I rolled back into it and ran 9.33 @ 140. the final round put me up against a split bumper camaro with a 6.0 liter and the hose on it I wasn't sure how fast he was I was getting differering reports from guy's but I knew he beat a 9.30 camaro earlier in the day(red light on the 9.30 I found out later). So I ran it hard for the first part of the track but noticed him in the rear view mirror so I lifted to a 9.41 @ 132 in the final.
And after collecting the envelope full of cash and having the pics taken I towed the golf cart back to the trailer with the race car because the battery died and that is a good day.

Bobb hasn't posted because he's been in Orlando for the World Street Nats. I was down there hangin' out with him and we had the usual laughs and funny stories. Bobb's buddy with that ProCharged Caprice wagon didn't make the show in Drag Radial, so that kinda sucked, but we did our best to have a good time anyway. Those guys had a long way to go to get home and they pulled out of the track late Sunday afternoon, so Bobb may just be getting home now. Unfortunately, it rained ten times in the last five days and cut qualifying down from four sessions to just two. Steve just removed 600 lbs from the wagon and didn't get a chance to test the car in Michigan before heading to Orlando. He just couldn't get it to hook up, just like a bunch of guys that were trying to make the cut. Rain screwed the heck out of eliminations on Sunday as well. Got things started a few hours late after it rained early Sunday morning, stopped things with a deluge at 4:30 and shortly after they dried up the track from that one, it rained AGAIN! Me, John Massoud and his two buddies had had enough at that point and retreated to our hotel. I was hangin' with Rob Giroux down there as well, and he said he didn't think they even were going to try and start racing again after that last one. We had been at the track until 2:30 am on Saturday night trying to finish qualifying, and they turned all the drag radial cars around at that time and finished qualifying on Sunday. I guess the event organizers were afraid they'd be there all night, what with 103 drag radial cars trying for 32 spots. Tough way to wind up a tough weekend. Of course, a bad day at the track is always better than a good day at work!

It was a great time hanging with all of you I know you spent the most time around us hopefully it wasn't to boreing with us tired old farts LOL. I felt bad for Steve if he would have left the weight in the car it could have been in there for sure but we got greedy and wanted to be in the top 8 or so with it. Which ment it needed to go in the 7's 8.20's wasn't going to get it done but at 4440LBS it would have been cool but instead we came home not in. better luck next year I guess we will stuff a Buick up their butts next year . We got back to the race shop at 2:00 monday afternoon so it wasn't to bad 22 hours.

Good seeing you all there last weekend. Too bad the weather really made it a nightmare for the racers. Any of you coming to the US Street Nats at Bradenton in January? That track hooks way better than Orlando.

Hey Bobb, I wasn't even home yet before I was planning my next move on my car. I'm liking that Procharger deal more and more. I especially liked the trick the black car used at Drag Week to drive on the street. Kind of "have your cake and eat it too". Very cool. :idea2: Let me know how the stock block deal goes.

    See you all around.
