Is the Mr. Gasket mechanical advance limit bushing the only one on the market and what about stock replacement bushings?
I'm running a warmed over 340-4 with a 1972 350 distributor (#1112109), the one with only 16* mechanical advance. I found this distributor without the timing bush so I got the Mr.Gasket brass timing bushing. I've since found that my mechanical advance is only about 5* because the bushing is too fat for the smaller slot, used to limit this distributor to only 16*.
Are there any alternative bushings or do I have to start modifying this one or the distributor slot?
I'd like to get a full 10* - 15* of mechanical advance, with initial @ 12* and vacuum limited to 10* providing 33*-37* overall and all in at 2600-2800 RPM.

Do not add in the vacuum advance timing. Just mechanical advance to be at 32

Not all distributors were equipped with a bushing. That 1112109 never had a bushing, and doesn't need one. It has between 12 and 16* of mechanical advance as is.

The 72 distributer uses ported vacuum not manifold vacuum. It should not advance at idle.

No bushing limiter?.... Well that explains a lot.
    LOL... Thanks Larry!
