I just started a conversion to a dual reservoir master cylinder in a 65 A-body (El Camino with a 401 Buick motor, non-power brakes). I purchased the whole kit from Inline Tube, distribution block, lines to master cylinder, and the dual reservoir master cylinder. The problem I have is that the kit did not include the pushrod from the brake pedal to the cylinder and the old retaining washer does not fit the new master cylinder. The bore on the new cylinder is smaller than the original so I can't use the old retainer as it won't go under the "C" clip. I can't imagine that the pushrod just rests up against the master cylinder piston with nothing to hold it in place. Any help/ideas will be apprediated.
