    Mark-
I tried to reply to your email, but it came back as un-deliverable.

To answer your ?'s, a 350 will bolt in place of your existing 340.

The differences in the two motors, besides the 10 cid's are the heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, and cams.

You can re-use your existing tranny, motor mounts, wiring harness, distributor, and front engine acessories [a/c, p/s, alt, etc.] as needed.

The exhaust pipes might not match up exactly with the manifolds, but I'll bet it's real close.

340 cams and headers are available, but there kinda hard to find. Ask here and someone will know good sources for sure. Aftermarket intakes for the 340 are not available.

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply... must be that darn hotmail account.

A 350 might be the way to go for me. I crave speed as much as the next guy but I would like my LeSabre to be a more of a daily driver. That said, after some measuring, the 340 actually seems wider than the 430 I measured and not that much shorter. Plus, that conversion would remove the Powerglide, er, Super Turbine 300 from the equation alotogether.
