What is the best way to freshen up the mushy manual steering in my 65 Skylark?

All of the normal front end components have been replaced already and the suspension feels pretty tight, but it still has that very vague steering feel to it. How do I tell if the box is good? Does anyone make a hi-po manual replacement? Could it be that I only need to replace the rag joint?

Sorry for all the Q's, but suspension / steering is not an area I have much experience with.

    Thanks in advance.
