I am doing a 4-speed swap on my '72 GS. Some of the things I have are a conversion kit w/pedals, etc from Parts Place, and a rebuilt M-22 in a supercase. I also have a manual consolette. Does anybody know what linkage and shifter I will need? Could it be any from a BOP A-body from '68-72? Thanks

Year one also has lots of the smaller brackets, and the reverse lockout linkages. AFAIK, four speed stuff is fairly universal across the board for a-bodies. What's Parts Place's website? I think OPG has a pedal setup for 119.

To be correct handle is the Hurst 5335. It is available used.

There are many other special parts that will be required if you intend to make it like factory.

For example they used the clutch pedal actuated no start switch.

I think the linkage is different and the Parts Place pedels are not the best to use I understand.
As Jim said many parts needed to make it factory as I just had my done by someome who has done it many times.

There was just a very nicley restored 70' Buick Skylark shifter setup, handle etc.. for sale on Ebay starting bid was $650 not sure if it sold yet or not

the repop pedals ive seen are chevelle, they use a c clip retainer..skylarks and GTOS use a bolt in set..so if you have repop pedals you need a pedal hanger from a CHEVELLE..ya need to check it out before ya get it all apart and ya cant find a pedal hanger..like others here discovered the hard way...

68 69 CUTLASS..not 442 shifters are close enough they often pass as skylark shifters..i have pics..ive been wanting to post them anyway, i will get to it here in a day or two...

    Lee,

I wold be interested in the 1969 set up... I have 1970 correct linkage that you may be interested in .

As for the conversion.... I may have some the parts you need to complete... Pedals, bell housing small hardware.
Also check out Racebuicks (Mike) has made some of the hard too find parts .

Also as Mark stated the pedal hanger is different & Buick pedals are as well .
