I'm having my Machinist line hone/bore my 1976 455 block and he's asking for the torque Specs to use with the new ARP bolts on my main caps. Any recommendations? The spec T/A Perf. has listed in the reference section of their catalog says 100 ft-lbs. Is this the correct spec to use with new ARP bolts?

    Any help would becappreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jim

3 equal steps to 100 ft lbs. That's what is on the paper in my box I have here.

Ok. Appreciate the info. I finally figured out that ARP has the specs on their website. It's definitely 100ft-lbs in three steps with their ultra torque lube. My Machinist is what I'd call "old school" and didn't have the spec in his ARP books. I stopped by his shop today and showed him the specs. He's very particular and I'm glad he is. He's also 84 years old and very spry for his age and was inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of fame. Gerald Dixon of Dixon Racing Supply in southern Indiana.
He's slow but I don't particularly care obout that. He does fantastic work!
