Recently I purchased an M21 it is of the Pre 68 variety.

Year 1963-1970 Type: M21 Rings: One Spline: 10 Tooth Count: 26

Would this Transmission be suitable to use behind my 70 GS 455?

    My Car is a factory 70 GS 455 4spd.

    Thanks :TU:

1st, look at the hole machined in the front of the case for the countershaft. If a Quarter will drop in the indentation, you have a late '65 through '67 Muncie with the stronger cluster. Want closer to numbers matching, when rebuilding, build with the correct '70 dated & coded 660 or 661 case. Might also look at which side speedo exit you have, that can also be a problem, but can be remedied with another tail housing. Good luck.

    Roger the case is

    Casting: 3885010 Years: 1965 - 1967

I will look at the whole in the Counter shaft.

As for Date Coding. It is not nessasary at this point.

I will look at the Exit of the Speedo but what side is correct?

    Thanks
