I've been reading all the bad news about the GL5 80-90W gear lube so I thought I'd change it in the M-20 I have. Guess what, there is no drain plug. There is a fill plug on the side but that's it. The bottom of the gear box only has a blank where a plug should be. Now what? Can I drill and tap the blank and install a plug or do I have to pull the speedo gear and stand the car up on the rear bumper?:Do No: Thanks, OJ

Some Muncies are like that. Take the lower, center bolt out of the tail shaft housing. Thats how the fluid comes out.

None of the lower tail housing bolt will drain any of the gear lube out of a Muncie 4-speed...

    Hope this helps... Crash

Your right! I thought for sure it was the same as a T-10 and a Toploader. Go figure.
