Gents, I have an original 1971 Stage 1 Convertible and its time for a restoration. It's going to have to be a thorough one as far as the body (although the engine and suspension are all refurbished.) I live in Maryland but can send the car pretty much anywhere to be restored. Does anyone have some ideas about reputable shops in the mid-Atlantic area that might want to tackle a top-shelf restoration? Thanks. (410) 279-1276 West
Paul Frederick' s in Warrenton VA is one of the best A body restoration shops on the east coast. He just did a 67 black skylark that was fabulous for a member and a 71(?) vert for another member. He has no backlog right now (by choice) and is honest and realiable. 540 351 0443 or 0233 Tell him I sent you. - Bill
West, Ivyland Collision north of Philly does excellent work. See the resto they did on Ken's 71 GSX here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=179844
If you want a Councours correct Gold winning car, the current leaders in the show field for GS's are probably (in no particular order): Then and Now Automotive (stage-x on this board) in GA Ivyland Collision (GS Garage) (nickbuickgs on this board) in NJ JC Auto Body (gsjo on this board) - OH
Hey West- Nice to meet you at Cecil. Nick called me today and he asked me to bring my car down for a show near his shop on 10/17. He'll have several cars there brought by owners that he's done. It'd be a good chance to talk to people that he's worked with and also to Nick himself. Another guy you might want to PM is Kick71 on this board. Nick just finished doing a bunch of work on his car and his is intended to be driven (as is your goal).
Ken/Nick/Yards.... where is this show?, maybe I can show up. Ken/Nick....I still have to pick up those 15x7's I bought! Are they out of storage yet? Another cool show is the Vargo Dragway reunion on Nov 6th: http://www.vargodragway.com/ Nick and Yards.... you guy's gotta hit this one! It's retro!:TU:
