I bought a 76 Corvette that comes with a one year only steering column which only fits a Monza type steering wheel and nothing else. The column does not have the tilt or telescopic function either so I'd like to pull it for a 73, 74 or 75 column with the tilt and telescopic function that would also allow a new 3 spoke steering wheel. Has anyone seen the prices on these lately?? I went on e-bay and looked at prices from $500 to $1300. Are these guys nuts??? Is there any other column that would be a direct bolt in Chevelle/Camaro/Buick column with the tilt telescopic function that would fit? Does anyone have a C3 Corvette they are parting out with this column? I was just out bid on a 74 tilt/telescopic column on eBay and I'm kind of disappointed. I thought Id take a shot and ask here. Mike, I can't answer your question, but try posting over at Corvetteforum.com with a page to Jim Shea. I believe he is the guru of Vette steering columns and can probably explain all of your options in detail. Here is an example of a thread he has posted on: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-tech-performance/2455678-jim-shea.html He also has authored a series of technical papers for do-it-yourselfers: http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/?page_id=4 Good luck.
