Well, I tried the A/C yesterday and as no surprise to me it didn't work. I can't figure out where the r-12 went, it was empty. I evacuated the system and it has held 29" of vacuum for over 24 hours now......go figure.

Anyhow, I have decided not to waste any more of my private stock of Freon. I want to use Freeze 12 this time, and plan on getting a kit tomorrow..........if it leaks so what........it's cheap and perhaps I will find the leak with the dye I will put in with it.

I will never put 134 in this car, I'd rather pay $25 a pound for freon first, I just don't like the stuff, the pressures are too high.

Has anybody used Freeze 12 and how good did it work? Does it blow as cold as r-12? Are the pressures much higher than r-12?

Any replies will be greatly appreciated. :bglasses:

I loaded Freeze 12 in my wifes 92 transport last summer... No problems.. didn't even bother evacuating out any of the old stull (it was bone dry anyway). Ofcourse there is a leak there, I just got another Freeze 12 kit from Evans here and loaded that today. It cools great... the only thing I don't like is that those "Kits" come with Crappy hoses... you have to Unscrew the plunger in the hose so it will actually depress the valve on the cannister. If they had a better hose setup.. (like R134 does) it would be the best. Also, the kit doesn't come with a gauge so you're guessing as to how full the system is:eek2: ... but it's worked for me for a year and counting:TU:

Oh... BTW, It cools fine. I really don't know about a r12 comparison, but its better than r134 in newer cars. But I can't answer about pressure.
