I'm picking up a 4bbl set-up for my 69 350. Carb and intake are coming off of a 71 I believe and it has sat for a long time and will need to be rebuilt. I live in an apartment and can't do it here so I need to farm it out. Any recommendations of rebuilders for a solid rebuild for a stock motor? I'm not looking for a restoration either just something to bolt on and go. Thanks
Lots of good ones on the board. Ken at everyday performance (I think) and others. I do a bunch myself.
X3 on Ken at everyday. He is not only an awesome guy to do business with, but does GREAT work and will set it up however you'd like. Good luck
Find a good one, I just spent $300 on a rebuilt one from a recommended online carb rebuilder and all it does is flood gas out of the vents. The needle is stuck but I can't open up the top because they put some wax on two of the screws that if there removed voids the warranty. Well guess I'll miss a couple of more car show while I wait to mail it back and get another one sent to me. Good Luck with yours...
BigTodd, do you have a rubber fuel line going to the carb? If you do, while the engine is idling, squeeze the fuel line to close it off, so the fuel level in carb will go down. When the engine stutters from lack of fuel, open it back up. This might clear the junk in your carb and fix your problem. Also, are you sure your fuel pressure is 6psi or so?
Does anyone have the contact info for Ken at Everyday Performance? Looking to get a Quadrajet rebuilt. Thanks! Mitch
Ok will do, thanks! Someone rebuilt it years ago but the car has been sitting for several years it just needs to be rinsed out. Mitch
I am not sure where you are located, but it looks like you are in Washington (the good washington). I like Travis at Edmonds auto and marine. https://www.edmondsautomarine.com/ He has rebuilt several Q-Jets for me for Buicks and they have been rock sold every time. He used to work at my local old timy auto parts store in Shoreline (J&J) which is long gone now (so sad). He runs the machine shop there, and is good for lots of other jobs as well.
Hey Damage this is a old thread that was revived. Mitch is in Boston Mass. Not Boston harbor thurston County. Olympia area...
