If any of you kind people out there have recently upgraded to a four barrel setup, or for whatever reason have a spare 2bbl manifold farting around, maybe you would not mind sending it my way
I am a poor college student :( who is looking to have some fun with my sexy old sportwagon.
Ive gained a bit of extra cash in the past by applying my soldering skills to megasquirt EFI controllers, and while that money is long gone Its got me interested about doing a super budget build of one for myself.
So I have been toying with the idea of converting a 2bbl intake, using some pro bono fuel injectors and a fuel pump leftover from my brothers massive RX-7 parts collection. :)
Well, so if anyone is feeling kind enough to part with one of these hunks of iron, please tell me so and my poor college student self will be eternally grateful!

btw u mentioned your bro had massive amounts of rx7 parts?

i recently bought one, 1st gen(82) what parts does he have

We have such a collections of irons and misc that its kinda hard to say what we have, although I do remember that we parted out a rather beat up old first gen a while back. We mostly get second gens running through, as my brother has an unfortunate tendency to fix them for people, and a result two or three rexes belonging to other people kind of sit around the shop at any given time. :Dou:

So essentially it comes down to what you are looking for. Trim, we dont have much of for first gens. Weve got a few 12a blocks n rotors, usually no eccentric shafts, probably some interesting headers and intake manifolds. Id really suggest joining the http://www.rx7club.com/ forums and seeing whats up, I am certain his incessant trolling would lead him to reply if you posted that you needed something :D

I think to further my dreams of fuel injection Im going to go browse about the other subforums for more information that may be helpful.

Oh, and now that I think about it.... about how much does one of these manifolds weigh? I am almost worried about the cost of shipping it, even if someone did donate it to my cause

thanks..yea havent got around to joining that site...i recently joinded the v8 rx7 torque central forum...

no clue on the weight of a 2 bv..i belive the 4v i got weighed in around 54 lbs or so wich was like 10 or 20 bucks shipping...dont remember..erm actaully i think the price included shippng

might need some trim...wont know til i get all the interior peices and exhusht crap and such out of the hatch...my body is a lil rough so clean panels wouldnt hurt..main thing i need is a new floor pan..drive side is rotted, and i think a blinker marker assmbly

The sound of that forum makes me a bit worried, are you going to shoehorn an LSx in there (Or, more appropriately, a BBB or SBB :Brow:) ?
If you are not into the tiny 12a and want a hop up in the future, you may want to look for a carburated 13b , the swap is straightforward and probably more worthwhile than building that tiny little guy.
Its a shame you don't live around where I do, i am pretty sure that my brother's encyclopedic knowledge of the contents of the local junkyrds would find you a doner as quick as I could ask him the question. :TU:

I have a 1972 2bbl intake laying around somewhere. It's heavy though, and shipping will be expensive. Where do you live?

If you are in the Southeast I have a 2bbl off a parts car I stripped a few years back. I will never need it, just couldn't throw it out. It is off a '72 also.

I happen to live in the Pacific northwest. It seems alot of people with parts are on... well... the other side of the country :(
The shipping rates seem pretty rough from what I gotten quoted from fedex/ups.
I guess junkyard crawling WILL be cheaper than any free manifold you guys would have to offer :Dou:
Well, Ill get to scrounging once I am back in the states.... Im sort of in Austria at the moment :pp

Ill be sure to post a nifty build up thread in here someday if I ever get that far :Comp:
    Well, drive on! :3gears:
