Anybody put on long tube headers on a 71 - 76 full size Buick (w 455)? Do they fit as is or do things need to get moved around/fab work involved? I looked thru the older posts but I didn't see anything for this era full size Buick.

1 7/8" should fit without issues the bolt in crossmembet braces will have to go. Some cars had them some not. 71 -74 trans crossmember humps for exhaust may not line up nice. 75&76 need a different trans crossmember they are made for single exhaust only

Like hellcat above said, the frame braces have to go, and the crossmember jumps don’t line up. But they will fit.

I have to look at it underneath but I think I know what you mean by cross member braces. I do have them but they are easy to remove. I have read about the trans cross member hump issue elsewhere also.

So it sounds like with the trans cross member the humps will not be centered on the exhaust/header. But it will fit. No cutting/mods required correct?

I did put Doug's headers on my 75' Electra. It wasn't too much of a pain to put on.

I bent the collectors on my headers to match up to the crossmember humps.

So the end of the header ends up right before the crossmember or after? How hard is it to bend the collector?

The end of the header I think (my CRS is kicking in) is in front of the crossmember. My exhaust guy heated up the area around the collector and just bent the header in that area. I don't know how hard it was, but the torch is your friend.
