Is there any locking hood latches that use the original type hood latch or location?

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

There were kits that used the stock hood latch. The release lever and rod was removed and a cable from under the dash (like a parking brake release) was used to unlatch the hood.

If you can find a manual choke long enough, it could be used to do the same thing.

Just need a sleeved hard wire pull cable, clamps the secure the outer jacket and ferules to attach and adjust the stop on the cable at the latch, and a "pull" and bracket on the inside.

If you want me to "make a diagram", upload the detail on your latch from your shop manual (I don't have a '70 shop manual) and I can provide it so you can see if it is something that would work.

There were also "kits" for electrical releases. I just don't know what is available any more "off the shelf" that will readily work on our cars.
