lets get adventurous and put in aTA 510 cam it will go 6500 then How about really stepping out and put in a TA 210S step into the solid lifter era. You need the oil mods done and a better set of lifters. The qt of trans fluid will help clean out the system but do not run it hard and change the oil after about an hr of running around. This will make the oil thinner so the oil pressure could be lower so do not let the engine overheat. Do not rev it high either.
Well put in the Allen bolt and psi went from about 38 to 65. We'll see how long it will postpone the inevitable.
i think maybe 65psi is too much for an old setup. the psi puts a lot of gear wear pressure on the cam/dist gear and up/down rpm. i would take the screw out and cut off about .050 and try that. i know what big psi does......
You'll gain a few lbs. of pressure hot at WOT, thats about it. Your 38 lbs pressure Im assuming thats at cold start up idle? If so that was the stock relief spring in there.
me too, it will blow filters off on a cold start Once when priming the pump, I saw the filter canister actually extend outward from its base. most bizarre thing I've seen, I had to see it again
No cold fast idle is about 51 stays between 40-50 driving 65 was cold at about 4k so won't be doing that any way
I have the adjustable set up on mine and I have 60 at idle on cold start up and 50 at 2000 rpm 70 at 6 grand.
