Recieved info that the Toro of Leno's that was at SEMA will be on RIDES on TLC at 10pm eastern on 12/21. Beautiflul looking car.
The first write-up I read on this car refered to the engine as a Chevy. But the latest Muscle Car Enthusiast (or was it Hemmings?) said it had an Olds 425. Does anyone know the truth? Beautiful car, although converting it to rear-wheel drive is like ripping its soul out.
Leno's Toro The article I read and info found on the web states it was converted to rear wheel drive. The engine is a special built item from GM engineering, displacing 425 Cu in. The story http://forums.gminsidenews.com/showthread.php?t=8450
Leno's Toro Saw the show last night and the road test at the end was awsome. That car sounds great. They were addressing Olds in the present tense,as if the division were alive and well, making coments about great engineering and styling. Bob Lutz was there too. Maybe if this project had been done 8 years ago Oldsmobile might still be around today. It would have rekindled interest in what a well engineered car can be, not one dictated by bean counters. Lets hope GM puts that car on the show circuit or at least at the Olds Nationals next year in Seattle.
