Robbins has better fit on the Jags,Merc , porsche but the Electron fit is better on the domestic cars. I have been using Electron for 10 years and before that I used Crown.

Crown was a good company until the kids took it over then yes , things went down hill quick . ICP was a division of crown and thier muscle car interiors were good . Al Knock bought the patterns and was supposed to produce them but has not . I to had problems with Crown Tops the last year or so and switched back and forth with Electron and Robbins . Crown was not good to the employees and screwed them big time . As a matter of fact , the guy who started Legendary was trained at ICP Cown before he started Legendary.

so has anyone actually used the Legendary brand as the original post asks? Is this the one YearOne sells?

I've only heard good things about Robbins and Electron, but how do the considerably less expensive ones fit? Are they usable for those of us that don't need a concourse restoration or otherwise have a limited budget?

I'm curious because I have already have a freebie that YearOne sent me and would like to have it installed. I don't really want to spend the extra hundred$ on a Robbins' if I don't have to.

Year one is or was selling KEE tops. My installer who by the way is on the preferred list for Electron said it fit great and was made well . However last time I got a bunch of backlash because they are 2/5 the cost of the aforementioned tops.

PS if your freebie is White and don't want it let me know.

I had a customer bring me a top from Kee for a Mustang . Was to small , 3" to small . I called Kee and they were very rude and unhelpfull . Then she tried to sell me tops . She said she could make me a better deal then Electron . My customer ended up buying AN eLECTRON TOP .

So no one has used Legendary tops before? My car is by no means a high dollar car. What it will be is a real nice driver quality car. My cars dont get driven in bad weather or sit outside. so i was hoping that i could get away with useing a top from Legendary. I just received the seat covers today. This is the 4th set i have bought from them and have been real happy with the fit and look everytime. The door panels should be here in a few days.

Not to hijack your thread, but how much did legendary soak you for shipping on the door panels? I have been hesitant to order from them for fear of high shipping rates.

    Thanks.

I have used Legendary and they sell KEE'S top's they are a bit lighter but easier to install compared to say a Electron top.

Not too happy with the top I got from KEE via Year One (Installer problems mostly) But I love my Electron Top! Well worth the difference in cost!!!

I prefer that my customers buy the top and or materials from me because that is what I am used to using and I have had some customers not understand that but after talking with them they generally do come around to understanding . Another reason is if you bring your top or materials /parts etc to the trim shop and something is wrong with them then you are responsible for getting another replacement but if the shop got the materials then its the shops problem . Its very frustrating when a customer car is tied up in my shop when the customer ordered the wrong part or something is wrong with the parts he got somewhere else. Its not fair to the shop . Time is money .
