    Howdy All!
Have you ever looked around the shop and said I could almost build a car from the leftover parts? Well I have been thinking about that so after Christmas I started putting it together. The car is an 82 Malibu wagon that I got for free! :Brow: When the motor in my suburban started getting weak I pulled a free 78 burb in for the motor. Now the 454 out of my burb is in the Malibu. Trans is a 350 out of a wrecked 81 Camaro. Radiator is out of another Camaro bought for parts for Mr Bill's Camaro. So for three days I have been putting it all together with the help of my two kids ages 13 and 9. Been great time with the radio on and the high temps has been 60-70 all weekend. To date I have spent $10.00 on parts! :eek2: just a few more things and it should fire up mon or tue.

That's a great story. Did about the same with a 64 442 HT years ago, then traded it even up for a 60 Vette with a bad engine. Bought a coupla 60/61 Chevies ($10 for a very nice 60 Impala (cracked block) with a good battery, and $50 for a mint Bel Air with a great 301 in it, but a cracked block) Sold the cars (both very nice) for enough to have my orig 283 bored out and reassembled with all the other parts from that 301. Think I had $350 in the 64 442, added another $500 with the Vette, then sold it for the down payment of our first house.

Now that's fun! Way to go.
