My friend and me are going to be swapping the rear end out of a 71 Camaro into my 74 Apollo in a few weeks. He seems to be pretty confident in getting the springs out because he has done that before. I just wanted to ask for any pointers or any special instructions on this since neither of us have taken one out of an X-body. Patrick P.S. is there any difference between a 73-74 Apollo rear end and a 71 Camaro rear end?
Can't answer your questions, but will be following this thread though, as I too am planning to swap a second gen F-body rear into my '74 Apollo. I picked up a 4-wheel disc posi unit from an '80 Trans Am that should have better potential than the one-leg 2.73 unit in there now. Robin.
