Last run of the year - '71 deuce and a quarter

    I never got the deuce and a quarter thing.

    ELECTRA 225. I remember a customer saying he was having a problem with his 69 SWORD . I asked him "what kind of car" and he said 69 SWORD about 3 more times. I finally went out to look at it and it was a 69 Le SABRE. Sabre = Sword . 225 = deuce and a quarter. Go figure.

    They were 225 inches long in 1959,60,68 and 69 only. Using standard number rounding. 59 was the first year and the nickname stuck. Particularly in urban vernacular.

    When people young and old check out BiggestRed, most of them say...."Nice DUECE" !!!
    That name has been around forever.

    I know it comes from the 225, but it just seems like an odd name for it to me.

    Now Sword!!!! That one had me laughing.
