Anyone using these .030/.040 kB pistons ? They’re reasonably priced , but read an old thread from 2005 and member that used them was very unsatisfied . Don’t really see hem ever mentioned so am def Leary ! I know there’s other options but curios on these ! 10:1 street motor Thx

They are fine for mild build I've heard they were a little noisy but who cares

Ya those ones. As I said member here gave em a try and wasn’t happy said loud when warm etc . But was a 15 year old post and don’t know if they’ve made changes ? For sake of saving $250 .... but leaning towards TA SPHERICAL if these kB could present problems.

They might be cheaper, but they aren’t exactly easy to swap out if you don’t like them. I would get a better piston.

The KB pistons need to be tight fit. Best to go C and C all the way and hone with a torque plate.
Better yet, order Autotec pistons and ASK for 2.10 compression height.

At that price of 535 for a set of hypers, there is better choices for your dollar that are a better piston.

If your doing a street motor look for a 4032 piston.......they have a longer life in the motor, if its a race motor look for a 2618 as its more suited for that application.........but that's my opinion.

But the taller piston height is a nice option if your block doesn't or hasn't been trimmed much

I have those pistons in my AWD 71, and they seem to work fine. I haven't heard about them making noise, but that explains some light ticking sounds mine has when it gets warmed up. Normally I run forged, but I got a killer deal on an a complete machined engine with the parts. The speed-pro forged are cheaper than those if money is a serious concern.
    Thanks

If they were noisy, it would be when cold, then go away as the piston warms up.

I was thinking the same as I read that.
Sounds like he has oiling/bearing issues
