DEADMANSCURVE my first word : truck

this a carb thing but really , how i was looking at it anyway , pertains to the 350 mainly because most of the BBB guys run a bigger carb or single plane intake . 99% of the 350's here use a dual plane i would guess .
june 2013 car craft page 40 - "ask anything" tech question section : a guy has a BBC and one part of his question was about carb size ( and he was using a dual plane ) - long story short - they mentioned that the higher velocity of a smaller cfm carb reacts negatively on a dual plane intake , the sharp turn ( especially on the high side of the plenum ) does not allow the gas particles to travel with the air particles effectively causing airflow disruption and uneven distribution . the larger carb and subsiquent slower airflow actually creates more usable power by way of better balance . just thinkin when i read it that it might explain why some here have better luck with larger than recommended carbs depending upon their combo . may also pertain to big q-jet secondarys opening up ? there were other things also affected like jetting and manifold vac etc . thought it might be worth lookin at .
also a later question had some info on the metering block emulsion holes ( holley obviously ) .
    like i said - just thinkin' .
