Just got it yesterday- he warned me it would look pretty rough- and it did, but bolted it on, set the idle...and proceeded to rip up asphalt...my car felt strong before with the Holley 750 on it....now...its a completely different car with pull all the way past 100mph- If you don't have one of his carbs- get one!! you wont regret it..... Anybody want a 3 month old 750? electric choke dual feed- $200!!
I had John rebuild my Q-jet and my distributor also. He installed the Crane xRi unit in the dist and recurved it for all advance in by 1900 RPM. WOW - runs awesome and I'm VERY pleased with both the carb and the dist!! If you ever need a good performance rebuild you should consider John Osborne. He really knows what he's doing!
I also have a John Osborne carb and it does not look all that great but MAN does it run :Brow: I would like to get him to do a dist. for me as I have a HEI unit now but I cant run my factory breather with it and I really want to put that on at the shows around here. Does anyone know if John Osborne rebuilds motors ???? if he can do this with a carb what can he do with a complete motor  hmmm makes you wonder doesn't it...
Ryan, just look at my avatar....It's all John Osborne built, everything except the trans. Mid. 12.20's and street-driven regularly..... Sam
John Osborne Quadrajet Performance Mod and Rebuild Specialist 270-737-4467 JOP455@AOL.COM Really nice guy to talk with
I had him do my dist and carb for this car, as well as my convertible. He really knows how to make these cars RUN!
Re: John Osbourne Q-Jet!! dunno- but from the time I said i wanted one, and sent him the money, I had the carb 6 days later. I thought I had an 800 core, but it has grown legs and walked out of my shop, he built it from one of his cores- and i can't be any happier- 11 miles to the gallon- 2 mpg better than the 750- give this guy your business!! Bryan
He needs a core, I believe I took his last- sorry- as for price- you'd have to call him- he always answers his phone- Bryan
Thanks , I just called he's out of the shop until July 2, I think I may be able to find a core . I understand he's also a wiz with distributers. Mine is an MSD HEI and is not advancing mechanicly only with the vacuum. It also has a lot of play in the rotor along with the Holley 950 HP I am sure I am loosing big low end power. Do you think its good idea for a rebuild on the distributer or go for a new one.
