I'm looking at my online bank statement and decide to see how much I've spent on gas. Big Mistake!! Between 9/10 and 10/3, I've spent about $130 on the stuff. Granted, that includes the Berwyn trip, but that means I spent about 18 hours slicing meat and cheese just to pay for gas. The good news is that the local Sonoco, Hess, and Mobil FINALLY lowered their prices ......... by........a.........whole........freakin'...........shiny.......PENNY!!!!!!!!!!!:af:  :af:

Last time I tallied it up, My wife & I were $360/month. And that was BEFORE prices got insane.

I have re-tuned my Buick to run on 87 Octane, and I work very hard to stay off the throttle. I think we're down below $300 last month, but I didn't want to look...

Of course if you really want to get upset, calculate how much of your time you spent working for Uncle Sam. And don't forget to include the taxes that are built in to the price of your gas! (over 40 cents/gallon here)

  4. Bob, that is a serious gas bill! WOW!

I just tallied our past 2 years of gas expenses, and we average just under $170/month. That's driving an 89 F150 4x4 daily driver, wife's 96 Grand Caravan daily driver, and my 68. Van sees about 12k per year, F150 about 7k, and GS less than 2k.

but, don't forget insurance. I pay 78 $ a year for my buick as a "classic" and about 48$ a month for my crappy truck. (a v6 ranger 4x4)
i am afraid to do the math but i assume the buick works out to be cheaper to run than my truck.

Last month, Sept1-Sept 30, 623,34 Euro on petrol.
And the Euro is a wee bit more than the US Dollar.

1 Liter of petrol is 1,13 Euro
1 US Gallon is 3.78 Liter

    O well.......it's a hobby!!!:pp

I paid $5.25 a gallon at the track last month. I don't recall what the octane was, but it was rocket fuel. Maybe 110 octane?

    about 10-12 gallons a week. that's what, 2.60 X 10 =26 a week X4 = 104 a month X 8 months a year running time = 832 bucks per year. it'll be more next year when I get my car at school - 1248.

    Matt,

    It's even more: :Smarty:

    2,60 x 10 = 26,00 a week
    26,00 x 52 = 1352,00 a year
    1352,00 : 12 = 112,66 a month
    112,66 x 8 = 901,28 Dollars in 8 months

You guys are so lucky to have cheap petrol and parts :TU:

  14. Work Vehicle and Buick

With my cable installer job(work truck) I have to pay for gas and average an oil change every 3 weeks so....
    24.00 x 6 days a week= $144
144 x 4 weeks a month= $576 out of my pocket I can only claim it at tax time if I save receipts.
    576 x 12 months a year= $6912

This doesn't include $18.00 a week for tolls.

Getting home and banging gears in the Buick... Priceless

I spend about $10 a day in my personal transportation cars for gas,,, on average.
But my real expen$e is my trucks.
I own 2 of them, 26 foot ISUZU diesel box trucks and deliver appliances for Sears.

Average about $40 per day per truck.... Yes, that works out to....
    Let's see...
    $40
    $40
    $10
    --------
    $90

Multiply by 30 days a month

    $2700 a month

    Times 12 months

    $ 32,400 a year

Top that!!!! Fortunately, come tax time, all of that is deductable:Brow:
