    Its (not)a Dual Quad 4-speed!

This comes under "what was I thinking" dept.

DUH update, its a LW car. I'm stupid. Read the Plate wrong.
Now when I upgrade to the LX engine I have stashed I'll KNOW its not original. Maybe I should go back to the single carb, original deal. :Dou:

    Ted,
Where exactly are you finding an "X" on your protect-o-Plate at?
The reason I'm asking is that the one I'm looking at here for mine has no such "X" reference.

first code on the second plate.
I'm looking at a different one now, but the top plate is the address, date, vin.
The second plate starts with the engine code! Right below is the transmission-BN. This plate is from a green convertible, which I have the LW engine that matches this plate.

    LW__349_________466675D113599
    BN__388_________BA__148
    N40_L50__A31__C16__U63

Ted, soooo.... the P-O-P engine code is a LX, right? The 3 digits following the LX code should also match the code stamped on the engine.
    Here's a P-O-P decoder from a '66 Service bulletin:

Hmm, that looks just a little different from the 65 plates I was lloking at last night. I'll look into my service bulletins for any decoder stuff.
Good point though, I can see if the 3 numbers after the LW correspond with those on the block. Time to get out the scanner :Comp:

Well, its still one of 11 equipped with 425 LW, 4-speed and A/C.
    If it didn't have A/c, there were 54 LW 4-speeds w/o a/c :Brow:

One of eleven is still pretty darn good! :3gears:
You almost had me worried there when I didn't see an "X" on my P-O-P.
Don't ever scare me like that again! :spank:

Where it says T-191- thats LT
below, it says R-329- thats BR
They made that POP wrong I guess.

    Look at all those options!

Nice. Is that the Spokane car or the Black one? (spoken with reverence!) :TU: A-A that would be black! Too cool.
