Is this valve stem color normal?

    Pulled my 350. Motor only has about 5000 miles on it. Noticed the exhaust valve stems are almost white? Normal, is it okay?

    Looks fine to me, actually it looks alot like a stock never opened engines exhaust valves, in other words, good.

    Wow Jay, how hard have you pushed this engine? Lots of wide open throttle? It looks like the parts have gotten hot.

    Honestly, not hard at all. Use to have a big detonation issue before I got the timing right, but I was amazed to see color. Reminds me of spark plugs when the motor is running too lean

    Lean or severely retarded ignition timing were my first thoughts. I'd check the condition of the valves and their seats.
