    Shawn,
I heard right or left hands are getting good money in the Middle East. But here in the States I would say that is to much, given the overall condition of the parts.

I looked at that photo over and over again:
Is there a chrome divider between the actual lamp housing and the reflector on the outside of the taillight ?

I always thought '71 had only 1 divider, located in the middle of the taillight:

Youre right, 71 only hav 1 devider in the middle of the taillight.
Just like on the Photo of the 71 back with the 72 bumper.

    Yes,

But it's not a model year 1972 Riviera taillight either

It may be a 71 light. Maybe its just a reflection that makes is look like a divider. I would ask for more pictures if I was interested.

That's what I thought! Kinda sneaky to, putting GS in the title, like GS has a different tail light or something.

Well, our Riviera is a non GS and it has the same taillights, like the one in the pic, bad boattail posted.

Hmmm... this is curious.... Is the seller a member of this site?

I contacted the seller through eBay, this is his answer:

Hi, these are my tailights, so I can answer all the questions...

There is not a divider between the light lens and the reflector, it's just a trick of the photo. As for the "missing" divider in the middle of the lens, if you look closely it is painted with a red wash.

I have another set of these that came in original boxes, and were never installed (the other set is going on my car) that also has it. It's sort of a semi transparent red that makes it look like chrome red and makes it sort of invisible against the light.

As for the value, I have about $400 in the set that's for sale, so that's obviously what they were worth to me. I've never checked on the cost of rechroming a set, but it's rare to find them in even this condition.

    Thanks Ron

The seller is correct about the red paint to hide the dividers, my nos set has them also, paid $200 for them in 2000, sure glad I did get them then. Kevin

Yeah, I wonder how much it would cost to get one rechromed. Anyone know?

Shawn, Depends on the shop, but probably about the same cost as the ebay set but the rechromes wont have the blemish. However the ebay units do include lens and housings. A tough decision to make. Kevin :beer

The taillights ended up selling for $376 to a guy who has a fully restored Riv except for the taillight chrome. He had pretty much given up on finding a set to match the rest of the resto, so he was happy to snag them. Thanks for your interest Ron

I'm glad someone got good use out of 'em. I'm sure they're worth the price if it compliments a great looking boattail!!
