We ended up having the mold to make the scoop remade/redesigned. I haven't seen a scoop from the new mold yet.

We have received the new Stage 2 scoop after the mold updates. It now lays flat on the hood. I will be placing an order, those interested should call TA Performance and reserve one.

    Just under 100 bucks.
Ordered and received two. (Friend had me order his) Out of the two, one is perfect. Next to my nos K-B scoop it looks the same. Has the slight crown on the leading front top lip just like the Buick made metal one and K-B.
Difference is the TA is heavier because the fiberglass is thicker and makes it not as flimsy...a good thing! The finish is not as nice but really doesn't matter...you have to sand and prep for paint anyways.
The other that my friend took has a very slight dip on one side of the leading front lip. So slight he's ok with it. If it were mine I would return it.
I mention that crown because that is correct and makes it looks better...unlike the other copies out there where they are straight across the top.
IMHO it is a great piece...even better than the Kennedy-Bell:) because of the thicker fiberglass.

    Good job TA!

It's so slight it's a non-issue. The bottom flange on the opposite side of the dip sits slightly high (not flat). If I close up that gap by pressing it down, both sides line up and look the same.

Just seems the one I got is slightly twisted- sorta like my mind; it's manageable and I'm OK with it.

was more than likely taken out of the mold too soon, residual heat moved things around

I received mine a couple weeks ago.
The front vertical edge on one side (don't recall which side) was cut "crooked".
One side looks like a smooth (straight) cut edge, The other side looks a little wavy.
It kinda looks like they had a line to follow on the edge but the one side came out wavy.
I am not gonna ship it back only because I do not want to deal with the shipping.

The scoop is going onto a 1972 skylark. You and I met about 20 years ago, I delivered you a pizza in my skylark, its antique gold metallic with a black vinyl roof.
