Will seat covers and door panels from a 1965 skylark fit the 1964 skylark? Also, do the interior pieces from other 1964-65 GM A-body cars (chevelle, cutlass, and gto) fit the skylark? Thanks, Willis
Seats and doors are the same so "yes" they should both fit fine. Other A bodies ummm errrr well yes, no & maybe depends on the part
Thanks for the reply. In addition, I was wondering about the seatcovers and door panels form the chevelle mainly as they have a fawn (light tan) color that I like. I guess I could just dye them that color.
The skylark stuff will fit as my 64 had 65 door panels front and rear in it. I took them out and bought new white interior for my convertible. The seat from a Chevelle will fit but I dont know about the panels.
My 64 has a tan interior, and I rather like it. Where did you order it from? Or, did you dye it. All I see from Year one, OPGI, and others is saddle and it looks rather dark. I am having samples sent to be sure. Willis
My interior is mostly original, save for the bucket seats and carpet, but I've been thinking that maybe I don't know tan from saddle. Trying to find a pic to post here. My car is also Canadian built if that makes a difference.
Please post if you find a picture. I have noticed that saddle in 1965 cars have a light color. I find it odd that you can get a convertible top in buckskin but not the interior pieces. Is that your car in the picture? That looks like tan. But, the color I have seen from distributors are much darker than that. Maybe it is due to the fact that your car was built in Canada. Thanks again, Willis
Here is a pic of my 64's interior, door panels and back seat I believe are the original 41 year old from the factory, however I cannot guarantee that. They do look somewhat worn though. Sorry for the brightness, sun was shining strong that day, and I don't think my fill flash worked. The car in my avatar is my 65 GS, it's color is similar to my 64.
Thanks for the photos. The carpet looks like the color I am looking for. The panels and seats are a darker than I want. I may have to dye them to get the color I want. Willis
You're welcome. :beer Forgot to mention that the carpet was replaced by the previous owner, I think he ordered the correct color. :TU:
In 64 they had saddle and they had a color called fawn. Maybe that is the lighter color. Tom I think your 64 is bronze mist?
That's correct Ed. :TU: Body color is bronze mist from factory, repainted by previous owner, doesn't look too bad, save for the less than perfect body work he did. uzzled: It has a fairly new white top as well. I don't know for certain what the interior color is however, original back seat upholstery seems to have faded somewhat.
fawn my 65 has a fawn interior, but it has darker accent stripes.skybirds interior is much darker than mine.i will try to get a picture.also,i asked the parts place for a sample of the gold color they list for a 65,it is light tan.ask them to send you a sample, sounds like what you want :TU:
I think I may have a pair of fawn door panels at my brothers place. I parted a 64 Lark this summer which had a very light color interior. The trim code was 133, which decodes to fawn according to the 65 info I have. Is trim code 133 the same for 64 as for 65's?? If you want them, I'll need a few days to get pics, they aren't mint, but I recall they're not mincemeat either. I also have the front bench seat, (kept it to possibly put in my convert) but it's in very poor condition. I didn't keep the rear seat, it was also in poor shape.
One step ahead of you - have color samples coming to be sure. Please post pictures when you can. Thanks, Willis
