Here's the setup. SP1 intake, 10.7/1 comp., Stg 2 SE's mild bowl & chamber work, 3500 stall ATI Treemaster, 3.73 Rear with 28" tires. 3600 lbs.. I just had a custom Comp. Cams hydrualic cam made. 294/304, 250/256, 553/558, 106/114, 110C/L. The lobes are out of their XE lineup. My question is with a cam this size where should I have the intake closing point (@.006) installed to for max perf? :Do No:

Depends on your gas. If it's 93 octane, with aluminum heads, the max the gas will stand is ~8.2 - 8.3 DCR. Get theDCR calculator and adjust the intake centerline until DCR gets to 8.2 - 8.3 max. More octane will stand higher DCR.

Putting the intake center at 104 (6 deg advanced, intake closes at 71 ABDC) puts your DCR at 8.1 .

Thanks Scott. That is a handy calculator to see how a different intake C/L will affect the combination. :TU:
