I have been wanting to put this on my 455 but haven't got around to it yet. It's a Edlebrock performer that I had powdercoated a nice red. What I don't want is to have the exhaust heat it up and discolor it. I guess I can get a valley gasket and block off the exhaust that goes through it? I have a quadrajet on it now with the exhaust heated choke. Is there an electric choke set up that is easy to convert? Thaks for your input.
sure, you can get a choke coil off of an early 80's chevy truck v8. you might just have to plug up the vacuum port inside the choke housing. that is needed to pull in hot air through the choke stove and is vented into the rear top of the carb. if left alone it may act up as a vacuum leak. good luck.
