    Hey,

I want t remove the "old" air cleaner and install a new spectre air filter. Which parts do I need for my 430 to install this air filter? There is a connection between the carb and the valve cover?

    Thank you!

Just remove the lid and toss in the new filter

So which Spectre air cleaner are we talking about?

The stock air cleaner has a crankcase small air filter that clips into the air cleaner. A hose attaches from that small filter to the rear of the valve cover. The Spectre air cleaner most likely doesn't have that provision. In that case, you simply use a breather element and grommet that goes directly into the valve cover, and eliminate the hose.

Why would you want to eliminate a nicely-engineered OEM air cleaner in order to install a cheap aftermarket air cleaner?

I hope the base of that Spectre air cleaner doesn't look like this,

    But I suspect it does.:(
