Guys, how would I bump the compression on my 1973 455. What pistons should I get (affordable) or should I search for different heads. I would prefer just buying different pistons for my rebuild. It is now 8.5:1 looking for 9.5 or 10:1

If you're going to do a complete rebuild, don't cut corners. Get 10.0:1 FORGED pistons and be done with it. TA now carries the new TRW's with the teflon coated skirt, Jim Burek @ PAE(buick535 on this board) and Bobb Mackley on this board have a killer deal on Wiseco's with rings included.

I have the TRW Forged 10:1 pistons in my 455. One thing you have to check is the deck height because without having my block decked my compression would have ended up around 8:1. I had my block decked and it is now at 10.2:1 compression.
